October 27, 2017 at 12:40 pm I appreciate the time and effort you have given to write such an incredibly helpful “How To Blog”, blog. I caught myself taking notes like I was in college all over again. I wasn’t recently laid off however, I did resign from my job due to unhappiness with the company and the pay. Writing is all I’ve cared about for a long time but making money doing it, well, it never really seemed like a legitimate source of income. Knowing it will take consistency, willingness, and time, was a nice reassurance because sometimes it feels as if it will never happen. I am writing a book and decided to make it into a blog along the way. I am also very new to this, thus the free blog site I am currently using. Made me feel good knowing I at least have step 1 accomplished. Thanks again for posting something about blogging that is helpful and worth my time to read. Thanks for writing a thorough article about making money from blogs. I learnt something new and hope to test drive your ideas soon. Awesome article!! Jan 12, 2015 @ 23:03:48 One of the ways people try to better their lives is by making more money so they go searching for ways to do that. I’m new to the world of blogging and stumbled across your sight. Thank you for all the detailed information! It’s been so helpful for me and I’ve found myself coming back to your sight numerous times in the past few days. God bless you and the work you do! It has given me lots to think about. My wife has been running a food blog for about 4 years now, ~120k views per month, 25k Instagram followers. The second half of 2015 is when we really started seriously monetizing it. Posted at 10:01h, 22 September Reply Make sure you have an image in your profile. Most people suggest having your personal picture, and I can see the appeal of that, as you can relate more with a person than a brand, but I always wanted to keep my privacy so I decided to use my logo. HostGator Review - An Honest Look at Speed & Uptime (2018) In general I like the article very much. I’ve even forwarded it to one of my best friends because she and I would both love to work from home. That being said, I’ve not seen an answer to your question, but I’m very interested to know how much is made by working 10 hours a week. The chart shows how long it took to see an increase in revenue, but it didn’t say what the revenue was. 10 hours a week to make $20 per month is a lot of hard work for peanuts. The chart would have made more sense if it had shown the Y Axis in dollar amounts, but there is no gauge at all. Is the highest point $5, $20, $500? Nobody knows. She says that she makes enough to pay her bills each month and that this has replaced her day job. But there are a lot holes in those statements. Was her day job part time or full time? Is she single and carries the whole load herself or is she 1 of three roommates and has minimal bills? She says nothing about the actual $$$. That scares me. Her disclaimer is that you won’t get rich over night. I get that. Kudos to her for doing all the leg work and sharing with us how to do it. There ia a lot of salesmanship here. I am laid off and would love to work from home. That is why I’m interested and that is why I’m concerned. From this form of blogging income, I earn around $15,000 to $20,000 a month. And, this is all from companies finding me and approaching me directly. You can now create a new page in WordPress by going to Pages » Add New and call it ‘Contact’. On the edit screen, you will notice a new ‘Add Form’ button. After I took the step the self-host this site, the next step that greatly helped me increase earnings was choosing a highly-customizable theme. I don’t necessarily recommend doing this at the beginning, since it does cost money to get a good theme, but once you are committed to blogging and are willing to invest a few bucks, putting that money towards a good theme is a good investment. Write reviews about the product or service and include an affiliate link to your review post. Don’t just repeat information found on the product or service sales page, but write about your experience with it. People can distinguish a thorough, honest review from one that’s done purely to generate revenue. Augustin Mondol Once your post is ready for the world to see, click Publish and it will automatically appear on your blog's homepage, as well as various other places (unless you customize your blog so that it doesn't do this). You know I’m the “fool” who blogs full time and lives in NYC ;) I’ve actually been thinking about writing a piece on why I’ve chosen to stay here since becoming location independent. Essentially, it centers around opportunity. The reason I’ve been on so many national television shows is because I can be at the studio an hour after a producer calls. And the brand equity built in the process is more valuable in increasing my income than any would be savings moving to a lower cost of living area. I’m also able to cultivate many meaningful relationships, because I’m here, at the center of it all, getting face time with the decision makers. 20 Problogger Darren Rowse $40,000 Advertising Banners STEP 3.
